Rebekah Ellen Ferguson, 29, passed away at 6:48 a.m., Thursday, April 25, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Alton, IL on September 13, 1983, she was the beloved daughter of Franklin and Nancy (Cralley) Ferguson.
An accomplished singer, she began her vocal training at Lewis & Clark Elementary and Jr. High Schools and East Alton Wood River High School in Wood River. Her training continued in SIUE’S music camp, and in the Edwardsville Children’s Chorus. She received further training at Lewis and Clark Community College, where she successfully auditioned for “Limited Edition,” singing as part of that choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Many people were blessed by her singing at First Baptist Church of Bethalto.
In addition to singing, Becky enjoyed writing and teaching. She also annually joined friends on a local January camp-out. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving also, in addition to her parents, are a sister and her husband, Rachel and Jim Robins of Godfrey; a brother, Ethan Ferguson of Bethalto; her boyfriend, Brian Peterson of Granite City; two nieces, Sarah and Amanda Robins; and two nephews, Nathaniel and Samuel Robins, all of Godfrey.
Visitation for Becky will be held at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Visitation will be again from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the funeral home, where Pastor Chip Faulkner will officiate her funeral and the celebration of Becky’s life.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto
