Ray Lewis

Ray Alan Lewis, 57, died at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1958 in Wood River the son of the late Clarence and Doris Mays Lewis. He was a plant operator for Airgas Inc. in St. Louis. On April 25, 1980 in Edwardsville he married Dawn M. (Halliday) and she survives. Surviving are one daughter, April M. Kiel (Josh) of Godfrey, one son, Ray A. Lewis II and his fiance’ Michelle Walker of Alton, four grandchildren, Ashley Kiel, Anna Kiel, Andrew Kiel and Jackson Timmie Lewis, four brothers, Gene Lewis of Vero Beach, FL, Bob Lewis of Godfrey, Bill Lewis of St. Louis, Scott Lewis of Granite City, and one sister, Judy Calvin of Huntsville, Alabama, he was preceded in death by one brother, Timmie Lewis and three sisters, Sue Lewis, Mary Phipps and Bonnie Lewis. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Roy Rhodes officiating.
