Randall A. Klaffer, 70, of Shipman, IL, died at 4:24 p.m. Fri. Oct. 10, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
He was born May 24, 1944 in Eldorado, IL to the late Minnie (Dodd) Klaffer Emmons and George Joseph Klaffer.
On May 11, 1966, he and Glenda Arlana Cline were married in Eldorado. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2011.
Randall retired from Olin Corp as an adjustor after 35 years of service. He was an avid Cardinal’s fan and loved fishing and “Oldies” music.
Survivors include: 1 son and daughter-in-law, Timothy & Karen Klaffer of Rock Bridge, IL, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Thana & Bruce Dunn, Dana & Jim Burris and Kimberly & Aaron Hickerson of Wood River, IL, 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Ty, Raiden, Parker, Janan & Melaina, a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie & Jim Rhoades of Sparta, IL and 2 sisters-in-law, Pat Klaffer of Mendota, IL and Brenda & John Akers of New Castle, IN.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Klaffer.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon, Mon. Oct. 13, 2014 at Paynic Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
