Penny Jo (Egelhoff) Bray, 48, passed away at 5:55 pm, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Alton, IL on June 11, 1966, the daughter of the late Lester W. and Josephine (Stafford) Egelhoff.
Penny was a teacher for Godfrey Early Childhood. She was a Christian and new member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, and especially being a mother.
She is survived by her mother, Josephine; two sons, Sean and Mark Bray both of Godfrey; a step-son, Keith Bray of Jerseyville; three brothers, Lester Jr. of Hartford, IL, John of Eldred, IL, Shawn of Hartford; three sisters, Jayne Smith of Hartford, Glenda Lopez of Jerseyville, Jill Snyder of Jerseyville; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark David; a sister, Dawna Jene; her grandparents, John and Minnie Stafford and Henry and Dorothy Egelhoff; a niece, LeAnne Smith; and a nephew, Michael Smith II.
Visitation will be from 2 pm until time of service at 4 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will be private at a later date this spring.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
