Paul Trickey

Paul E. Trickey, 91, formerly of Wood River, passed away at 12 midnight on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.  He was born on August 14, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of the late Linley and Cora (Steinhoff) Trickey.  He married the former Joyce M Leach – in a double wedding with Hazel Joyce and Ralph Page on June 17, 1945, at the First Baptist Church in Wood River by Rev. E.J. White.  Mr. & Mrs. Page are both deceased.  Joyce died in October of 2009, they were married 64 years.  Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Paula K. Seaman Myers and Gerald of Godfrey, one son and daughter in law: Kenneth G. Trickey  and Linda of Decatur, Alabama, his grandchildren and their spouses: Kimberly K. Claussen and Paul of Brighton, C. Troy Seaman and Heidi of Demotte, Indiana,  Michele Trickey Lane and Ken of Imperial, Missouri, Brandon Trickey of Kansas City, Missouri, great-grandchildren:  Lindsay N. Seaman of Demotte, Indiana, Kaylee R. Seaman of Demotte, Indiana, Kennedy Lane of Imperial, Missouri, Karlie Lane of Imperial, Missouri, and Benjamin P. Claussen of Brighton. 

Paul owned and operated Time Tower in Edwardsville, Avenue Shell in Wood River, and then Trickey’s Conoco in Wood River before retiring to Fieldon thirty five years ago.  He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose (over 50 yrs) where he has been a member since 1949.  He was a thirty year member of Fieldon Lodge #592 A.F. & A.M. of Illinois.  A member of the Wood River Lions Club, he was also a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ. 

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister: Jeanette Jones and three brothers: Scott Trickey, Jack Trickey, and Bill Trickey. 

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Funeral services will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the funeral home.  Pastor Barb Alley will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials are suggested to the 5A’s.
