Patrick Michael Dierking, 60, of Alton, IL, died Sat. July 13, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 28, 1952 in Carrollton, IL to the late Nolan & Myra (Fitzpatrick) Dierking.
The U.S. Army veteran retired from Alton Box Board as a machine tender after more than 30 years of service. He then worked at JC Penney’s in the receiving department for another 9 years. He was a member of the Alton Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed gardening and had been a member of the Alton Moose.
On Feb. 6, 2004, he and Lynne E. Striplin were married in Edwardsville, IL. She survives in Alton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Michael Patrick Dierking, a daughter, Faith Gabrielle Dierking and a step-son, Nicholas Striplin all of Alton and a sister-in-law, Connie Dierking of Jerseyville, IL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Mary L. Scoggins, Elizabeth Hunter and Margaret Davies and 3 brothers, James, Joseph and John Dierking.
The family will hold a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Sat. July 20, 2013 at the Alton Seventh Day Adventist Church.
