Opal Adams

Opal I. Adams, 93, passed away at 8:35 am Sunday June 8, 2014 at Bethalto Care Center.

She was born on March 14, 1921 in Glen haven, Missouri, the daughter of the late Marvin and Ida (Sitze) Mouser.

She married Ernest E. Eudy on August 9, 1936 in East Alton.  He preceded her in death on June 3, 1990.  On January 8, 1994 she married Glenn Adams.  He passed away on September 9, 2002.

Opal worked for Olin Corporation as an inspector in the Metallic Load Department for 33 years, retiring in 1975.  She was a member of Word and Worship Church in East Alton, the Olin Machinist Union AF&L #660, the Golden Venture Club of East Alton and the Westerner Club.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Beverly Eudy of Wood River; a daughter, Irene Zachary of Leesville, Louisiana; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eleven great, great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ernest and Glenn, a son-in-law, Stanley Zachary three sisters, Ruth Crook, Linda Hobbs and Janice Tucker and six brothers, Lester, Oscar, Roy, Melburn, Curtis and Edward Mouser.

Visitation will be from 11 am until services at 1 pm on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Randy Butler officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
