Felony charges: Two charged after Wood River delivers drug warrants on Thursday

Millie A. Breden, 90, of Bethalto, passed away at 12:50 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2014.

She was born May 1, 1923 in Ennis, Texas, the daughter of Frank Bob and Mary Hattie (Kudrna) Vrla.  

She married Charles Edwin Breden, Sr. on July 20, 1946 in Ennis Texas.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 1996.

Millie was an executive secretary to the financial officer for Olin Corporation prior to her retirement in 1986 after 28 years of dedicated service.  She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister for several years. She also was a dispatcher for Senior Citizens, enjoyed cooking and baking and most of all she loved being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three sons, Charles E. Breden, Jr., Bob Breden and Steven Breden all of Bethalto; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Ericka and Ben Crouse, Nicholas Breden, Kimberly Breden and her fiancée, Tim Meyers, Joshua Breden, JoAnne and Stephen Earnhart, Jeremy and Brandi Breden and Jenny Harshbarger; nine great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Lucas, Hayley, Brooklyn, Jessa, Drew, Riley, Hayden and Abby; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Wilma Vrla of Dallas, TX and several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Arnold Vrla, Edwin Vrla, who passed away during WW II, a sister, Mary Beran and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Breden.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.   

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials may be made to Masses at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church or Charity of One’s Choice.
