Mildred Eileen Love, 90, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton. Born March 13, 1923 in Alton, she was the daughter of Claude and Daisy (Wright) Gentry. Mrs. Love was a homemaker but had worked at Western Cartridge during WWII. On November 1, 1942 in Alton, she married Harold Love. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ken Edington of Wauwatosa, WI, a son, Greg Love of Alton, three grandchildren, Julie Edington, Chad Edington, and David Edington (Karen), a great grandchild, Calie Lynn, one brother, Homer Gentry (Goldie) of San Bernardino, CA, and a sister, Shirley Easterling (Frank) of Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, baby Diane Love, two brothers, Donald and Richard Gentry, and two sisters, Dorothy Travis, and Ruth Borman. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Private burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery at a later date.
