Mickey Emmons

Mickey L. “Mick” Emmons, age 62 of Godfrey died at 6:08 AM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.   He was born in Alton on August 14, 1954 the son of Stella (Fritz) Emmons of Godfrey and the late Leroy Emmons.  Mick was retired as a certified surgical technologist for several hospitals in the area, a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey and a lover of music who played bass guitar in the Crystal Image Band since 1971 with his brothers.  Mick was a wonderful husband and father and was an inspiration to all during his year long battle with brain cancer.  On May 20, 2000 he married the former Jill C. Manns in Dorsey, IL and she survives.  Also surviving are three children; Rachel Wahle (Nick) of Twentynine Palms, CA., Molly Emmons of Godfrey, Tyler Pichee of Godfrey and Bailee Emmons of Godfrey, three grandchildren; Carly, Nora and Lydia Wahle all of Twentynine Palms, CA., his siblings; Jack Emmons (Anessa) of Brighton, David Emmons (Joanne) of Alton, Dan Emmons of E. Alton, Dennis Emmons of Godfrey, Terry Emmons of Godfrey, Sherry Weigel of Godfrey, Jay Emmons of Godfrey, Jan Emmons (Connie) of Alton and Brian Emmons of Godfrey, his mother in law; Cecil Manns of Dorsey and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father; Leroy, a sister; Peggy Emmons, a brother in law; Royce Weigel and his father in law; Jack Manns.  Visitation will be at Gent Funeral Home in Alton on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM where funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday with Rev. Kenneth Tegtmeier officiating.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.  Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation or a college fund for his children in care of Jill Emmons.  Additional information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
