Michael William Smith

Michael William Smith, 73, passed away at 11:41 pm Saturday February 2, 2013 at home with his family by his side.

He was born January 19, 1940 in Alton, IL the son of Walter & Mae (Richey) Smith.

He was a boilermaker for Local 363.

He is survived by a daughter, Lorrie Ann McClaine of Kansas City, MO and a son, Dennis McClaine of Rocky Mount, Virginia; two grandchildren, Spencer Clayton McClaine and Katherine Grace McClaine; one sister, Mary Petras of Wood River, IL and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Betty Smith of Dow, IL, two special nieces, Rhonda Young and Tanya McGee.

For over 40 years Michael had a special love for Mary Ann Smith and her children.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Smith.

Visitation will be from 4 pm until time of funeral services at 7 pm Wednesday February 6, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Rev. George Humbert officiating.

Following the funeral services, Mr. Smith will be cremated.
