Michael Forsting

Michael E. Forsting, 65, passed away on Friday evening, March 6, 2015, surrounded by his family at home while under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.  He was born on August 30, 1949, in Alton, Illinois the son of the late Gene and Lila (Scoggins) Forsting.  He married the former Ann Schneider on June 13, 1986, in Wood River and she survives.  Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Nichole and William Moseley of Moro, three sons and a daughter in law: Derek and Kara Forsting of Alton, Marc Forsting of Bethalto, Matt Forsting of Bethalto, four grandchildren: Andrea Forsting, Alex Jones, Hanna Forsting, Carson Forsting, one sister and brother in law: Penny and Reggie Middleton of Woodburn, Illinois, one brother: Terry Forsting of Hartford, many sisters in laws, brothers in law and other extended family and friends.

He was formerly employed as a driver for over 20 years at Hansen Trucking in Jerseyville.  He loved hunting, fishing, and all types of sports.  He loved to race and enjoyed watching racing on the television.

In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be 9am until time of memorial mass at 10am on Saturday, March 14, 2014, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.  Father Tom Liebler will be the celebrant.  Private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto or to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
