The Lord needed another angel, Michael Benjamin “Ben” Sackman, 27, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 16, 2015 at his home. Born July 24, 1987 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Michael William and Brenda Sue (Rutledge) Sackman of Godfrey. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and worked as a manager for Title Max for the last three years. He was an only child and greatly loved by his parents and many great friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and many great friends. Along with his parents, he is survived by a grandmother, Jenny Ranney. He was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Margaret Rutledge and Paul Sackman. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate.
