Melodee Moffet-Costanzo, 59, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at St. Louis University Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born on October 14, 1955 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Robert W. and Patricia J. (Pardee) Moffet.

She married Lawrence “Larry” Costanzo on June 10, 1983 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  He survives.

Melodee attended Southern Illinois University where she majored in Equestrian sciences. Melodee was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton where she was involved with her liver disease support group and worked on the funeral lunch committee.  She enjoyed her horses, trail riding with her husband, rug hooking, gardening, landscaping, reading, religious study, supporting her friends, cooking and baking.  Some of her baked goods took top prize in several county competitions. Most of all she loved her family and all kinds of animals and nature.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Monica and Dan Moffet-Winnett of Alton and an aunt and uncle, Jim and Phyllis Moffet of Modesto, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas Moffet.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 pm Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Father  Jim Walther O.M.V. officiating.

Memorials may be given to the American Liver Association.
