Mary R. Watts-Belt, 94, passed away 6:30 a.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
Born in Equality, Illinois on December 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Mary (Stricklin) Elliott.
She first married the late Earl Watts, then married Charley Belt, who also preceded in death.
She had worked as a Secretary at Olin and was a member of the Gold Star Mothers.
She is survived by a daughter; Deborah Lamere and her husband Joe, of Bethalto, a daughter Judith Wong and her Husband Anson,of Los Angeles, California; three step daughters; Emily, Ellen and Elaine.
Her brothers; Joe and Everett Elliott; her sisters; Mrylee Loustanau, Nora Fern Nelson and Lucille Elliott; her son; Corp. David "Butch" Watts, preceded her in death.
A visitation will a held from 11 a.m. to until time of service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, at Marks Mortuary with Rev. Joe Dunnagan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Garden in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program.
