Mary Holland

Mary Holland, 91, passed at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Integrity Healthcare of Wood River.

She was born March 14, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of the late James E. and Mabel (Houghton) Lagemann. She retired after 25 years from McCrory’s Department Store where she worked as an office manager and was a member of Bethalto United Methodist Church where she enjoyed meeting with the woman. She was a member of the Home Extension Woman’s Club On January 9, 1943 in Alton she married James Holland and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2002.

Surviving are two daughters; Marilyn and Dick Karns of East Alton and Nancy and Bill Wells of Roxana, four grandchildren; Jennifer Gray, Kimberly Alexander, Jill and Greg Stimac and Matt and Amy Cooper, eleven great grandchildren; Brandon, Ryan, and Tabitah Gray, Haley, Ashley and Brittany Alexander, Cole and Megan Stimac, Cody, Kayla and Lily Cooper, two sisters; Virginia Mulkey of Idaho and Helen Schafer of Brighton. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Charlie Lagemann, Junior Lagemann and Bob Lagemann.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 with Reverend Joe Richards officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to Bethalto United Methodist Church.
