Mary H. Tinnon, 66, of Alton, passed away at 7:08 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis with her family by her side.
She was born July 22, 1947, in Caruthersville, MO, the daughter of Melvin and Robby (Riggins) Cummings.
She married Homer Tiinnon on January 29, 1965, in St. Louis, MO. He survives.
Mary was a loving person and very intelligent. She loved spending time with her family and would go out of her way to help others.
In addition to her husband, Homer; she is survived by a daughter, Melody Tinnon of Alton; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Tommy Ravell of Potosi, MO; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alvin and Trena Cummings and Melvin and Janie Cummings, all of Caruthersville, MO, and Jimmy Cummings of Potosi, MO; three grandchildren, Denny, Breann, and Derrick Earney and two great grandchildren, Layla and Hannah and an aunt, Dolly Harrison of Caruthersville, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Dawn Michelle Tinnon, who passed away in infancy, Susanna Marie Earney who passed in 2013 and a sister, Amy Dean.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until services at 3 pm Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West officiating.
Burial will take place on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Stroke Association.
