Mark Leon Andrews, 55, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. He was born on September 1, 1959, in Kankakee, Illinois the son of Paul and Marilyn (Zuercher) Andrews. Survivors include his mother and step – father: Marilyn and Larry Graham of South Roxana, one brother and sister in law: Carey and Lori of Caseyville, Illinois, two nieces: Ava and Elsie, and his Springer Spaniel dog: Bugs.
He graduated from Edwardsville High School and Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL. While residing in this area he was a Boy Scout leader with the Piasa Troop. After moving to Oregon, he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oregon Institute of Technology in Nursing. He was employed as an ICU nurse at Providence Hospital in Seaside, Oregon where he resided. He was a member of the American Nurses Association and the Oregon Board of Nursing and also the Oregon National Guard.
He was a member of the North Coast Family Fellowship Church in Seaside. He went on three mission trips to Switzerland, two mission trips to Germany, and one mission trip to Belurus, Russia. He has been to Israel two times. He marched in Washington D.C. for the Jewish Community. He enjoyed reading and doing military re-enactments.
In addition his dad, he was preceded in death by one sister: Cheryl Lyn Andrews.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held at 6 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Roxana Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Earl Gillett will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the North Coast Family Fellowship Church in Seaside, Oregon and will be accepted at the memorial services.
