Marion Ellsworth Neibel, 76, passed away 8:45 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at his residence.
Born January 15, 1938 in Sturgis, KY, he was the son Elmer and Eleanor Audrey (Hazel) Neibel.
He had been a computer analyst for the Department of Defense for 38 years before retiring in 2001.
An Air Force, Korean War veteran, he had been a Past Commander of the East Alton American Legion Post 794.
On June 24, 1961 in Alton, he married the former Lou Ellen Cobbel. She survives.
Surviving also are three sons, Marion E. Neibel, Jr. of Villa Rica, GA, Marty D. (Tammy) Neibel of Roxana, Matthew E. (Diana) Neibel of Brighton; a daughter, Michelle D. (Tim) Herter of Batchtown; four grandchildren; grandchildren, Megan, Brandon, and Dillon Neibel, Hayley Neibel, and step-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents and a sister, Delores D. Perica.
No services have been scheduled.
Private burial will be in Jefferson Barracks national Cemetery.
