Marilyn “Susie” Whitaker-Byrley

Marilyn “Susie” Whitaker-Byrley, age 60, died peacefully at her home on December 27, 2012.

Susie was born on February 5, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Earl and Rythia Whitaker. She attended Roxana Schools and graduated in 1970. On May 30, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Byrley.

Susie will be forever remembered by her husband, her three devoted children Karen Byrley of Bethalto, Lori (Ricky) Reams of Bethalto, and Lisa (Charles) Reifsteck of Edwardsville, and three grandchildren Austin Reams, Alex Reams, and Samantha Reifsteck.

Her siblings are Steven Whitaker, Carolyn Nolan, Vickie Hinton, and the late Linda Whitaker.

Susie lived and worked in Bethalto, Illinois. She was employed by State Farm for over 25 years.

A public visitation will be held at 4pm-7pm, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home, 727 E. Bethalto Blvd., Bethalto, IL 62010. A private burial for immediate family will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Shane Taylor.

Memorial contributions are welcome at TIP Hospice Indigent Fund 217 E. Center Dr. Alton, IL 62002.
