Margaret Ann Lavelle, 86, passed away 10:10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Born in Bunker Hill on September 18, 1928, she was the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Duncan) Eden.
A 1946 graduate of East Alton-Wood River High School, she enjoyed "Big Band" music and dancing; and loved spending time with family and friends.
She had worked as a secretary for Shell Oil 20 years before retiring.
Her husband, Donald Lavelle, preceded her in death in 1974.
Surviving are a son, Robert (Glynda) Lavelle of Edwardsville; and two granddaughters, Jane and Sarah Lavelle.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bethalto. Father Tom Liebler will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Foundation.
