Manuel Garcia Jr., 68, passed away peacefully at 3:15 am, July 11, 2015 at home with his family by his side.
He was born in East St. Louis on February 15, 1947 the son of the late Manuel Sr. and Stella (Rojas) Garcia Sr.
On July 8, 1967, he married Linda Harrell in East St. Louis.
He was a Furnace operator at Olin for 42 years. He enjoyed Camping, fishing, and loved his wife, daughter, and grandchildren, always bringing a smile to everyone’s face with his infectious laugh.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter Tammy and Todd Kruse of Moro; three grandchildren Taylor, Torrie, and Tess Kruse; four nieces and nephews Sonya and Ray Edwards, Kim and Luke Lenhardt, David Garcia, and Stevie Garcia; one brother-in-law Mike and Dorothy Harrell; special friends Steve and Karen Massiero, David and Susie Price, a little buddy Addie, and many other friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother David Garcia.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday July 13, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11 am Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL with Pastor Lori Schafer officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
