Maggie Nell Layton, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
Born Oct. 18, 1930 in Reese, Ark., she was a daughter of John and Gruty Jane (Hazelrag) Bromley.
She married Ralph Layton Aug. 13, 1949 in Pickette, Ark. He preceded him in death on March 26, 2004.
Maggie loved to cook and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She faithfully took care of her husband until he passed away.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay (John) Williams of Alton and Debbie (Michael) Signorino of Wood River; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Tonya) Layton of Fosterburg; her grandchildren, Johnny (Jen) Williams, Crystal (Ryan) Comardelle, Gary II (Gracie) Layton, and Jeremy Signorino; 3 great granddaughters, Brittany Grayson, Lyla Comardelle, and Blakelyn Layton; and a sister, Ovada Phillips of Truman, Ark.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karen Jo Layton; 2 sisters, Juanita Camp and Estelle Tanner; and a brother, Cecil Bromley.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Pastor Tim Keller will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
