Lucy Peters

O'Fallon, MO |

Lucy Angelina Peters, formerly of Rosewood Heights, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at Delmar Gardens of O’Fallon.

Born Apr.11, 1923 in Wood River, she was a daughter of Vincenzo and Caterina (Signorino) Pellegrino.

She married George Ernest Peters Sept. 13, 1941 in Wood River.  He passed away Nov. 27, 1995.

Lucy worked in sales for both Seibold’s Bakery and later, J.C. Penney.  She also worked for a time in the Roxana and Bethalto school districts as lunchroom monitor.

Survivors include 3 sons, Joseph (Cheryl) Peters of Godfrey, John (Laurie) Brisco of St. Louis, and George Jr. “Pete” (Carol) Peters of O’Fallon, Mo.; 8 grandchildren, Gregory (Deidre) Blakely, Janeen Blakely, Zachary (Trinity) Peters, Jane (Jay) Schmidt, Todd Peters, Brandon Brisco, Alexis (Justin) Black, and Bradley Peters; 4 great grandchildren, Emily and Amelia Blakely and Zack and Alex Schmidt; one brother, Ross “Angie” Pellegrino of East Alton; and 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Pellegrino of Wood River, Fannie Pellegrino of Glen Carbon, and Phyllis Pellegrino of Alton.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Nyman; 3 sisters, Sarah Gentile, Pauline Magurany, and Mary Dugan; and 3 brothers, Sam, James, and Joseph Pellegrino.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.  Father Tom Liebler will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
