Loyal K. Wahl

Loyal K. Wahl, 92, died at 7:38 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. He was born December 4, 1920 in Greene County, IL the son of Truman V. and Nettie O. (Long) Wahl, Sr. he retired in 1977 as an electrician with the Alton Box Board. He was a member of Sanford Avenue Baptist Church in Alton. On July 8, 1946 in Alton he married Dolores Shandrow and she preceded him in death on June 21, 1999. He is survived by one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, one sister; Hazel Dixon of Wood River, many nieces and nephews and a special friend; Katie Forsythe. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Bonnie Ruffner. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Dan Bowers to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
