Lorrine P. Woods

Lorrine P. Woods, 88, died at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at her winter residence in Alamo, Texas. Born February 2, 1925 in Shawneetown, IL, she was the daughter of Daniel and Bessie (Frailey) Crunk. She was a butcherette for Tri-city Grocery in Alton and the Kroger Store in Alton and Godfrey. She later got an associate degree in accounting from Lewis and Clark Community College and became a secretary for the Metropolitan United Methodist Church in downtown Alton. She was a member of the Godfrey Baptist Church. On June 4, 1952 she married Harry F. Woods in East Alton. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2004. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Watsek of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Jane Schmotzer (John) of St. Louis, MO, and Timothy Watsek of Cheyenne, WY, a sister-in-law, Daisy Crunk of New Baden, IL and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Lauren Watsek, and two brothers, William and Lowell Crunk. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013. Reverend Dr. Glen Greenwood will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Godfrey Baptist Church.
