Lois Draper

Lois N. Draper, 86, passed away at 1:50 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Alton Nursing and Rehab.

 

She was born July 21, 1926 in Thebes, IL, the daughter of James and Gertrude (Storey) Warren.

She married Clifford A. Draper on March 18, 1946 in Olive Branch, IL.  He passed away on April 22, 2011.

Lois was a homemaker.  She was a member of the South Roxana Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed cooking, raising chickens, fishing, gardening and gospel music.  She loved everyone she met.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lana S. and Michael Haldeman of Bethalto; four grandchildren and their spouses, Doug and Carey Richie of Terrell, TX, Gina and Keith Wrather of Columbia, TN, Kayla and Mike Schlemer of Bethalto, and a step grandson, Brian Haldeman of Lincoln, NE; six great grandchildren, Kaytlin, Dalton, and Graham Richie, Austin and Mason Schlemer and James Michael Haldeman; a great, great granddaughter, Kaydence Wrather; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dewain Draper, several brothers and sisters, Elsie, Howard, Ollie, Leslie, Ralph, Vertie, Beulah, Thelma and Daisy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday, February 1, 2013 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Mick Thrasher and Rev. Mark Thrasher officiating.

 Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Doug Richie family.
