Lois Hindmon

Lois Elaine Hindmon, 69, passed away at 4:21 am Wednesday February 4, 2015 at Bethalto Care Center.She was born January 3, 1946 the daughter of Elmer & Eunice (Waggeman) Pine.Lois was a member of the Upper Alton Baptist Church and worked at St. Elizabeth/Gateway Hospital in Granite City and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis as a registered nurse.She married Gene Hindmon on January 25, 1961 in Wood River and he survives.In addition to her husband, Gene Hindmon of Bethalto; she is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine & Alfred Shasteen of Oklahoma, and Joy & Douglas Sawyer II of Alton; nine grandchildren, Mary Elaine, Elsah, Ruby, Kate, Hank, Benjamin, and William Shasteen; and Grace and Anna Sawyer; and one brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Diane Pine.She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Jean Marie Hindmon.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday February 5, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Friday February 6, 2015 with Pastor Brad Donoho officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey.
