Lois Brigman

Lois Brigman, 90, went to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, at 11:46 a.m., Wednesday December 31, 2014, at her residence with family by her side.

Lois was born June 6, 1924 in Ava, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Pierson) Thompson.

On February 20, 1941 Lois married Robert L. Brigman in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1995.

She was a loving wife and mother of three children and enjoyed crocheting, making Quilts and cooking for her family. She loved baking and the patrons at Brigie’s Kountry Kitchen enjoyed pies and cakes she made for many years.

A member of the Forrest Homes Southern Baptist Church, she was steadfast in her faith and her reliance on God for her daily needs. She dearly loved all of her family and was devoted to their spiritual needs. Her smiling face and twinkling eyes will forever be remembered by her family and friends along with the caring, thoughtful, unselfish life she lived.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Gray of Paris, TN; a son, Darrell Brigman of South Roxana; Eight grandchildren, Richard (Stacey) Boner of Smithfield, VA, Debbie Crotty (Al Callovini) of Staunton, Robin (Rick) White of Wood River, Kent (Pam) Brigman of Dorsey, Keith Brigman of Colorado, Rhonda Woolridge of Brighton, Chad (Stacey) Brigman of Wood River, Nicole Brigman of MO; eighteen great- grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Calvin (Naomi) Thompson of Canton, TX; one sister-in-law, Bernice Brigman of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Brigman in 1989; three sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, until service time at 1 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River with Pastor Dan Penrod officiating.

Graveside service will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be given to the Forrest Homes Southern Baptist Church.
