Lloyd Orval Heflin, 80, died at 4:13 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., from complications of heart surgery.
He was born in Rolla, MO. on June 11, 1934 the oldest child born to the late Jenson Orval & Lois Mae (Wisdom) Heflin.
Lloyd attended Bethalto schools, and was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He was a bricklayer for over 50 years with the Labor Local 8 out of Belleville.
In his spare time Lloyd loved to hunt, fish, garden, and take care of his beloved dog, Kujo. He was raised in the Methodist faith, and was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge.
He married the former Roberta Cunningham on Oct. 1, 1988 in Lake Ozark, Mo., and the two have been blessed with 26 years together.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta Heflin of Medora; a daughter, Holly Heflin of St. Louis, MO.;' two brothers & sisters in law, Gary & Michele Heflin of Edwardsville and Jack & Sharon Heflin of Bethalto; a sister & brother in law, Gayle & Larry Hausman of Godfrey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law & mother in law, John & Doris Cunningham.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday. Rev. Seeram Garney will officiate.
Burial will be in the Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 conducting military graveside rites.
Memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
