Linda Kay Bates, 56, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at her home.
Born March 28, 1958 in Alton, she was a daughter of James Earl Fravell and Shirley (King) Ehrat.
She married Charles W. Bates Jan. 20, 1975 in Wood River. He survives.
Linda worked in the cafeteria at Edwardsville High School, and aside from that, spent her time being an excellent “Nana”.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Shirley Ehrat and her husband Walter of Vandalia; two daughters, Christine Lynn Bates and her husband Ron Dolan of Louisville, Ky. and Amy Marie Gardner and her husband Dennis of Benld; 4 grandchildren, Erin Ashlee Dolan, TessaMarie Lynn Bonser, Dustin Tanner Bonser, and Tylor Seneca Bonser; and her siblings and their spouses, Diana McMahan of Maryville, Mickey (Debra) Fravell of Hamel, Gale (Steve) Stalhut of Alhambra, and Kimberly (Earl) Keller of Pleasant Hill.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. Pastor Steve Friese will officiate.
Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
