LaVerne Wunderlich

LaVerne Wunderlich, 82, died at 3:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She was born January 21, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late John Kubisak and Theresa Peters. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in West Alton, where she enjoyed spending time with the quilting club. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 4219 and she enjoyed being a domestic engineer. On September 15, 1956 in St. Louis, MO she married the love of her life Thomas Bernard Wunderlich and he survives. Also surviving are five children, Tommy M. wunderlich (Jamie) of O’Fallon, MO, Danny A. Wunderlich (Mary) of West Alton, MO, Lori Connoyer of West Alton, Jimmy Wunderlich (Cindy) of St. Charles, MO, and Judy “Bug” Gruendler (John) of St. Charles, MO, thirteen grandchildren; Chris, Pat, Steve, Joey, Shelley, Jerad, Aaron, Alexandria, James, Isabella, Abigail, Clifford, Julie, three great grandchildren, Leighton, Alyvia, and Madison, one sister, Lorraine (Jule) Sanchez and many nieces and nephews including Brian Sanchez, MaryAnn Penrod , Gary Peters and Susie Feaster. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Mike Peters, Joe Peters, Harry Peters, and Vera Peters. Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home, 2409 State Street in Alton, Illinois. A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in West Alton with Father Robert Banken to officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri at 12:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to VFW Orchard Farm Post 4219, in Portage Des Sioux, , Missouri.
