Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Eugene Brown, 83, passed away 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis.

Born on November 6, 1933 in Glasgow, IL, he was the son of Dorcy and Sophia (Decker) Brown.

A Korean War, army veteran, he had worked as a laborer until he retired.

On December 31, 1953 in Alton, he married Norma Worthy.  She survives.

Surviving also are a son, Kenneth D. (Sue) Brown of Wood River; three daughters, Patricia Hibbard of East Alton, Pamela (Randy) McWilliams of Colorado Springs, CO, Melissa (Patrick) Nelson of Collinsville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Jesse Brown of Diamondhead, MS; two sisters, Bernice Hayes of Jacksonville and Judy Kurfman of Mt. Sterling, IL.

Preceding in death were his parents; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; six brothers; and nine sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.  Pastor Dan Penrod will officiate.

Committal Services with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glasgow Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a veteran's organization.
