Keith Elliott

Keith H. Elliott, 85, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Bethalto Care Center. 

  Born on June 18, 1928 in Alton, he was the son of Herbert and Mayme (Klopmeyer) Elliott.

  He married the former Dorothy Donelson of March 7, 1951 in Alton.  She survives.  Also surviving are a son, Chris (Lori) Elliott of Valier, Ill.; two daughters, Debra Teachman of Chapmanville, W.V. and Vicki Stewart of Rosewood Heights; five grandchildren, Nick (Shannon) Stewart, Brandon (Jess) Stewart, Amanda Thesier, David Elliott, and Mark (Melissa) Elliott; six great grandchildren, Rylan and Elizabeth Stewart, Michael Thesier, Parker Stewart, and Gunnar and Huck Elliott.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Audrey Adcock.

  A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict.  Keith retired from Clark Refinery Engineering Dept.  He was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in East Alton.  He loved his church family and all his special friends.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  He devoted his life to doing for others.  He loved his family and enjoyed the grandchildren so much.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.  Pastor Daryl Fansler will officiate.

  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

  Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or BJC Hospice.
