Katherine Green, 97, passed away at 8:41 am Friday, June 27, 2014 at her home.
She was born on February 4, 1917 in Alton, the daughter of the late Harry & Addie (Grace) Perkins.
She married Leo W. Green on May 8, 1937 in Alton. He passed away on May 10, 1978.
She attended Anchor of Hope Fellowship Church in Alton and worked for St. Joseph Hospital in Alton in the Dietary Department for 39 years retiring in 1987. She enjoyed cooking, church activities and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol & Dave Wiser of Manassas, Virginia; two grandchildren and spouse, Ralph & Janet Green Jr. and Deborah Green and two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Ralph W. Green Sr. and nine siblings.
Graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Upper Alton Cemetery with Rev. Seeram Garney officiating.
Memorials may be made to Anchor of Hope Fellowship Church, 503 Milton Rd. Alton, IL.
