He was born in Alton on November 9, 1957, the son of Victor and Kathleen (Coatney) Dubbelde.  Karl married Teresa Lahey in Alton, Ill., on September 30, 1988.

His family and friends rejoice in knowing he is now free from the cross he’d been burdened with for so long.  The strength and courage Karl exemplified, as he lived with the disease, is something we can all draw upon in facing our own life challenges.  We will all forever cherish the moments our paths crossed with his.  Such fond memories of childhood, adolescence, college, and especially the precious time Teresa, Nikki, and Taylor spent together with him as a family will forever be held dear in each of our hearts.

Karl had a great love of life, enjoying music, fishing, golf, and simply spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto and worked for Moog Automotive as an Instructor and Technician.
