June Marie Tucker, 84, of Wood River, IL passed away at 8:30 a.m. Wed. Mar. 19, 2014 at the Eunice C. Smith Nursing Home in Alton, IL.
She was born Mar. 21, 1929 in Wood River, IL to the late Verne & Mildred (Astroth) Eades.
On Christmas Eve 1950, she and Weldon W. Tucker Jr. were united in marriage at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Wood River. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage until his passing on May 7, 2011.
She is survived by: a son, Royce L. Tucker of Wood River, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca L. Pavish of Wood River and Rachelle & John Gilham of St. Louis, MO, 4 grandchildren, Nathan Pavish, Louise (Patrick) McDill, John Tucker “J.T.” Gilham and Douglas Kyle Gilham, twin great-granddaughters, Ava Marie & Kirsten Elle McDill and a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Jim Gholson of Wood River.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sun. Mar. 23, 2014at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be at 11:00 a.m. Mon. Mar. 24, 2014 with Rev. Mike Southcombe officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
