Juanita M. Simpson, 90, went to be with the Lord at 5:04 am Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.
She was born on May 21, 1923 in Dixon, MO, the daughter of Thomas Franklin and Mima Isabella (Davis) Goodman.
She married Albert Barney Simpson on May 24, 1941 in Dixon, MO. He preceded her in death.
Juanita was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Bethalto Church of God Church. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary; the Meadowbrook Fireman Women’s Auxiliary and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Don Arnold of Moro, Carole Miller of Bethalto and Mary and James Collins of Bloomington, IL; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and a sister, Maxine Cross of Dixon, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, John Thomas Simpson, a sister, June Withers and an infant sister, Virginia Fay Goodman.
Visitation will be held from 4 until funeral services at 6 pm Friday, September 20, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Jeremy Robinson and Pastor Tim Campbell officiating.
Burial will be Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 12 Noon at Seaton Cemetery in Seaton, Missouri.
