Joseph J. Tardino, 59, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the United Methodist Village in Godfrey.

Born March 20, 1956 in Alton, he was a son of Vincent and Catherine (Cuttone) Tardino.

Joe worked in the flooring business as salesman and territory manager for almost 40 years.  His true passion was music, and he was the original D.J. at Baker Street in Wood River.  He also played music at Goomba’s and various other clubs in the St. Louis metro area throughout his life.  He was at his happiest in the D.J. booth.

Survivors include his mother, Catherine of Wood River; two sons, Ryan Tardino of Las Vegas, Nev., and Andrew Tardino and Erin McDonald of Florissant, Mo.; a granddaughter, Avery Tardino; a sister, Laura Tardino of Wood River; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Lee Ann Tardino of Bethalto; 2 nieces, Andrea and Kyle Ilges and Alyssa Tardino; his ex-wife and friend Jackie Weintrop of Creve Coeur, Mo.; and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 4-7 Tuesday, March 15 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16.  Father John Luong, OMV will be celebrant.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
