Jon Daley Collman, 63, was called home to be with God on June 5, 2015, with his family at his side, after a brave, eight month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jon is survived by his wife of nearly 27 years, Brenda (Workman) Collman; and his children, Jon Collman, Jr. and his wife, Aggie of Godfrey, Sonia Kelley and husband, Steve of East Alton, Heather Leihser and husband, Tim of Greenville, Carrie Mashburn and husband, Joe of Wood River, Chris Warner and husband, Bob of Alton, Jennifer Lewis and husband Bill of Wood River; a four-legged daughter, Sochi Collman; six brothers and sisters, Dianna (Collman) Ross, Edward "Butch" Collman, Jr., Dan Collman and his wife, Katrina, Stoney Collman and his wife, Dava, Karman Fairless and wife, Ellie, Tyna (Fairless) Wagner and husband, John; 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildlren, who he loved so very much and who brought him such joy.
Jon was born in the summer of 1951 to the late Edward Collman and the late Rose Gray (formerly Collman). He spent his childhood playing on the streets of Bethalto and running cross country track.
After graduating high school, Jon proudly joined the United States Army and served one tour of duty in the Vietnam War.
Jon worked at Laclede Steel Company for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He was a determined and successful businessman, who had a hand in several ventures. At various times in his career, he and his wife, Brenda owned, "Jon's Corner Bar" in Wood River and "Angel Cream Donuts" in East Alton. At the time of his death, he continued to own, "Brenda's Bar and Grill", which is currently leased, and he continued to own and operate, "The Locker Room Tavern" in East Alton as well as several rental properties.
Jon was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish, swim and garden. He was a very giving soul who always put others before himself. He was a dedicated and gentle care giver to his wife, as she went through her own cancer treatments; and more than anything else, he loved to spend time with his extensive and loving family.
Services in celebration of Jon's life will include a visitation from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River with a funeral service conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Greg Groves will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Jon will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He was a good man.
