John W. Hotz, 68, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Palms Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg after a lengthy illness. He was born in Venice, Il. on April 12, 1946, and was the son of Louis & Geraldine Hotz.John graduated from Jersey Community High School, and served with the U.S. Amry during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he relocated to Florida where he was employed with United Van Lines for many years.Surviving are three sisters, Carol McDaniel of Jackson, Mo., Shirley Rulo of Grafton, and Ethel Burton of Grafton; a brother, Jerry Wayne of Godfrey; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.Preceding him in death was his father, Louis Hotz; his mother & step father, Geraldine and Howard "Rex" Fisher; a sister, Ruth Babic; and three brothers, James, George and Charles Hotz.Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014 a the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
