Johanna E. Schleper, 84, passed away 2:30 am Monday January 16, 2017 at
Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born on May 17, 1932 in DuQuoin, IL the daughter of Anthony & Winifred (Rogers) Schleper.
Johanna was a member Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton and worked as a registered nurse in the area after graduating from DePaul Hospital School of Nursing.
She is survived by a sister, Kathryn O’Connor of South Yarmouth, MA; a sister-in-law, Shirley Schleper of Alton, several nieces and nephews, Kathryn O’Connor, James O’Connor, Dan O’Connor, Mary Decker, Roger Schleper, Mary Unangst, and Nancy Potje.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Schleper and a brother-in-law, James O’Connor.
Visitation will be from 9 am until 9:30 am Friday January 20, 2017 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday January 20, 2017 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Jason Stone celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
