Jessye Lorraine Moran, 89, passed away 1:17 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
Born in Kemper, IL on October 20, 1924, she was the daughter of William Richard and Henrietta geraldine (Ferguson) Hembrow.
She married Russell L. Moran, who died April 23, 1996.
Surviving are a son, David (Laurie) Moran of Wood River; two daughters, Kay McQuaid of Shipman, Nancy (Ron) Hart of Alton; six grandchildren, Vanessa (Chris) Allen, Nathan and Nicholas Moran, Skip (Marcia) McQuaid, Rodney (Sherry) McQuaid, Sherrie (Randy) Durbin; five great grandchildren, Dale Lee Bounds, Holly (Rodney) Cokel, Mandi (Troy) Brooks, Ryan and Jordan McQuaid; four, 5th generation, great-great grandchildren, and two sisters, Shirley Baiter and Imojean Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Diane Sue Moran; and three sisters, Kathryn McNelly, Helen Hardin and Mary Miller.
The family extends a heart felt thank you to the staff and all her friends at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Foundation of Shriners Hospital for Children.
