Jeannette E. Silveus, age 83, passed away at 12:02 pm Sunday August 16, 2015 at Missouri Baptist hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on November 19, 1931 in Highland, IL, the daughter of the late Herbert J. and Cornelia H. (Rothley) Clayton.
Jeannette was formerly married to Clifford E. Silveus in Alton; he preceded her in death on May 8, 1989.
Jeanette was self employed in the Alton Area for several years, cleaning homes. She enjoyed crocheting, especially afghans, she also enjoyed sewing, reading and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a very loving and devoted Mother and grandmother and will be missed terribly.
She is survived by her three children; Michael Dorsey of Florida, Gene Silveus of Alton and Jodi and her spouse Chris Parrino of Brighton, four grandchildren; Carrie and her spouse Kevin Zini, Nicholas Parrino, Hannah Parrino and Emily Parrino, four great grandchildren; Tera, Nicholas, Brenna and Kyle and one great great grandchild, Lancley, . Three sisters June Hess of Pocahontas, IL, Virginia and her spouse Delmar Starnes of Pocahontas, IL and Judy and her spouse Larry Favre of Staunton, IL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Steven Dorsey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the funeral Home with Rev. Stan Hunt officiating.
Burial will follow at the Moro Presbyterian Cemetery, in Moro, IL
Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association
