James Haneline

Wood River |

James L. Haneline, 55, passed away 2:55 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his residence.

Born on June 11, 1960 in Jerseyville, he was the son of Betsy (Booth) Wallace of Alton and the late Virgil Haneline.

He had been a self employed mechanic for 40 years.

Surviving are his mother; step-father, Clyde "Tex" Wallace of Alton; two daughters, Jennifer Haneline of Wood River, Nichole Cleaveland of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Sabrina and Andrew Kopp, Leigha Torres; four sisters, Deborah Stagner of South Roxana, Cheryl Scoggins of Alton, Lynne Stewart of Godfrey, Mary Spence of Shipman; and special friends, Donavon and Ronda Weber.

He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Janice Mason.

Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Upper Alton Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Alton Moose Lodge.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
