Jacqueline “Jacki” Langford, age 74, of Alton, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born January 20, 1940, in Alton, the daughter of Maurice and Leah (Lefler) Griesbaum. She married James E. Langford Sr. on April 15, 1960, in Edwardsville, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2014.
She was an avid gardener who also loved crafts, reading, and very passionate about animals. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her father, Maurice Griesbaum of Alton; a son, James E. and Teresa Langford II, of Wood River; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Dwight File of Alton, and Janet and Roy Smith of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Sr.; her grandparents; her mother; and a daughter, Susan L. Langford, who passed away Sept. 9, 1979.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2014, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Long officiating.
Burial will take place in Upper Alton Cemetery.
