IRIS GERBER

WHITE HALL-  Iris Dawn Gerber, 61, went to be with the Lord,  at 4:50 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.She was born in Carrollton on April 8, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Bert & Bessie (Wyatt) Varble.Iris attended North Greene schools, and been employed at Reisch Nursing Home in Carrollton, IVEDC, 518 South and Westlake Country Club, both in Jerseyville.  A resident of Jersey County for many years, she loved her family, friends, and most importantly, God.  Always full of life, she never met a stranger, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, tending to her flowers and plants, as well as the companionship of her two dogs, "Punky" and "Hilda".She married Robert Gerber on Aug. 18, 1979 in Jerseyville, and he survives.Also surviving are two daughters, Gina Nord of Jerseyville, and Roberta Maxeiner, and her companion, Charles Dillinger of Bethalto; two step sons, Gary Gerber of Brighton, and Bobby, and his wife, Rebekah Gerber of Batchtown; three grandchildren, Cassandra Nord, Shelby Nord, and Madeline Maxeiner; several step grandchildren; two brothers and sisters in law, Benny & Wanda Varble of Jerseyville, and Marlin "Bubbles" & Mary Varble of Carrollton; two sisters, Sheila Alred and Melody VanWinkle both of White Hall.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother & sister; and her grandparents, William & Bessie Wyatt and Charles & Anna Varble.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a short service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
