Howard L. Weaver

Howard L. Weaver, 86, formerly of Godfrey, passed away at 1:30am on February 11, 2013 at the Anna Home for WWII Veterans.

He was born on May 9, 1926 in Alton to the late William A. and Daisy G. (Piggott) Weaver.

On June 19, 1947, he married Geneva Estelle Knight in Eddyville, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on March 7, 1995.

Howard served his country in the U.S. Army during the World War II. He was employed as a pipefitter at the Shell Oil Company in South Roxana, where he retired after 40 years. He played fast pitch softball for many years pitching for several area teams. He was also a member of the Godfrey Church of Christ.

He is survived by a son, Howard D. Weaver, of Marion, Illinois.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

There will be no memorial service.
