Henrietta Marie Keiser Fitzgerald, 92 of Moro, IL passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Hospice House, in Port Charlotte, FL. She had been residing in Punta Gorda, FL since December of 2009. During her visit to her home down there that she had a stroke in February of 2010. Due to health issues she had to remain in Florida.
Henrietta was a member of the Coast Guard during World War II and an active member of the USO. In her earlier years she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Alton she was very involved in her church.
She was a loving wife of James J. Fitzgerald and had 48 wonderful years together. They were married on April 9, 1958 in Belleville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2007.
Henrietta was the last surviving child of Henry and Rebecca (Shaw) Keiser. Henrietta is survived by one younger adopted sister, Ginetta Jo Ferrar; many, many nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Goldie and Laverne Keiser and Joyce Snider.
Henrietta was preceded in death by: two sisters, Josephine Cathorall and Virginia Wieckhorst; two brothers, William and Thomas Keiser, one step sister, Verna Lawrence, one step brother, Virgil Snider.
Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2012 from 4 to 8 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Thatcher officiating.
She will then be placed next to her late husband James Joseph Fitzgerald at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
