Helena Maria Buie, 63, passed away 7:14 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born in Alton on August 1, 1952, she was the daughter of John "Jack" Seibold of Godfrey and Jessie Marin Highfill of Brighton.
On October 14, 1984 in Tennessee, she married Kenneth Buie. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are two sons, Daniel Buie of St. Louis, Thomas Buie of Wood River; daughter, Maria Baum of Alton; three grandchildren, Kyler Elfgen, Travis Flowers, Ethan Geisen; a great grandchild, Nevaeh Flowers; three brothers, Danny Seibold of Wood River, Greg Highfill of Bunker Hill, Mike Seibold of Godfrey; and two sisters, Pat (Mike) Fisher of White Hall, Joyce McGeehan of Granite City.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Keestan Elfgen.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.
In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated following the service.
